Behind the lens with Laura
My love of photography began when I was a child, watching my grandfather take pictures: he was an amateur photographer with the heart, patience, and passion of Ansel Adams. Following in his footsteps, I "followed my bliss" and earned a degree in photography from the University of Texas at Austin. I grew inspired by living abroad in Spain and Mexico and learning so much about different cultures. I then moved to Napa Valley where I photographed my very first wedding. As I fell in love with telling stories, I moved back to Texas to grow my business and to be with my family. I have now been photographing love stories, families, lifestyle and events for over a decade. While I typically work in Austin and Houston, you will find me shooting weddings and events all over the world.
"I seek out the moments in between where the love shines bright"love will always win
I'm here for you, to tell your story. Every story is completely unique and that's what allows us to shine bright in each moment. I am a photographer and a visual artist. I combine photojournalism, portrait and editorial photography to document your family, your event and your big day. My work is fresh and tangible, mood-evoking, and always energetic and alive. I capture the fleeting, fun, and colorful moments that you want to bottle up forever.
the fun stuff
Fall is my absolute favorite season! Every fall is the annual backpacking trip and my pup, Koda, never wants to leave the woods! I'm always up for an adventure and I love spontaneity. I might attribute that to a very large family and growing up surrounded by love and laughter and a bit of chaos. I'm an animal lover, vegan and a human rights activist. I am a gear nerd with photography and backpacking equipment. I am inspired by nature, family and of course, love. I am inspired by the writings of John Muir and am reminded that we are all connected to one another and to everything on this planet. Everything we do matters and we can do so much good in a day. Showing kindness to all will always be the answer.
