Behind the lens with Laura

Rooted in my background in photojournalism and studio art photography at the University of Texas at Austin, my approach blends intuitive storytelling with thoughtful composition. I photograph families, elopements, weddings, portraits, as well as lifestyle and travel photography, using a style that balances documentary honesty with an editorial eye. Drawn to natural light, I work with both digital and film, choosing the medium that best serves the moment. My imagery leans cinematic—warm in tone, rich with movement, and grounded in heartfelt emotion.

I approach each session or wedding by focusing on connection and genuine moments. I work closely with clients to understand what matters most to them, and I guide the process in a way that feels natural and relaxed. From selecting meaningful locations to designing a photography timeline that flows with the day, my goal is to capture real moments while keeping the experience enjoyable and effortless. I’m excited to document your story—your family, your love, your adventures—in a way that feels true to who you are.

about Laura

My love of photography began in childhood, watching my grandfather work patiently behind the camera. He was an amateur photographer with the heart, discipline, and quiet reverence of Ansel Adams—teaching me, without words, how to slow down, observe, and honor a moment as it unfolds. Following in his footsteps, I chose to “follow my bliss” and earned a degree in photography from the University of Texas at Austin, where my creative voice began to take shape.

Living abroad in Spain and Mexico further transformed the way I see the world. Immersed in different cultures, languages, and rhythms of life, I learned how powerful storytelling can be when it’s rooted in curiosity, connection, and respect. That perspective carried me to Napa Valley, where I photographed my very first wedding—and fell deeply in love with documenting human stories as they naturally unfold.

As my passion for storytelling grew, I returned to Texas to build my business and stay close to family. More than a decade later, I’ve had the privilege of photographing love stories, families, lifestyle work, and events across every stage of life. While Texas, Colorado, and Asheville, North Carolina often feel like home base, my work takes me wherever stories are being lived—capturing weddings, portraits, and meaningful moments around the world.

"I seek out the moments in between where the love shines bright"

love will always win

I’m here to tell your story, because no two stories are the same, and that’s what allows each moment to shine in its own way. I’m a photographer and visual artist, blending photojournalism with portrait and editorial approaches to document your family, your event, and your brightest days. My work is fresh and tangible, mood-evoking, and always energetic and alive. I capture the fleeting, joyful, and colorful moments that you want to bottle up forever.

I Can't wait to capture your story!

Life + Adventure

Fall is my absolute favorite season, especially because it means our annual backpacking trip, where my pup, Koda, never wants to leave the woods. I’m always up for an adventure and drawn to spontaneity, something I credit to growing up in a big family surrounded by love, laughter, and just enough chaos to keep things interesting.

I’m an animal lover, vegan, and passionate advocate for both human and animal rights. I’m also a self-proclaimed gear nerd when it comes to photography and backpacking equipment. I draw constant inspiration from nature, family, and above all, love.

The writings of John Muir have deeply shaped the way I see the world, reminding me that we are all connected to one another and to everything on this planet. What we do matters. There is so much good we can create in a single day, and kindness to all beings, will always be the answer.
